The aborigines have been using the leaves from this indigenous tree in their healings for many centuries. Today, Tea Tree is the subject of extensive research. One of the latest additions to the catalogue of aromatherapy oils, tea tree is most popular for its antiseptic action, packing a potency of as much as 100 more than carbolic acid, yet non-poisonous to humans!

It is effective in a wide range of conditions including auto-immune system stimuli, anti-virus, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal. Useful in treating a variety of skin conditions and infections such as ringworm, acne, athlete's foot, sun-burn, tooth-ache.

Wash for Cuts and Wounds
To 2 cups of warm water add
2 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil ( EO)
5 drops Lavender EO
Bathe wound.
Apply 3 drops of Lavender EO to a piece of gauze and cover wound, renewing it twice a day for 2 days. After 3rd day, remove gauze.

Athlete's Foot
1 drop Lemon EO
1 drop Lavender EO
5 drops Tea Tree EO
Add to 1 tablespoon carrier oil. Massage the feet paying particular attention between toes.

Reusable Kitchen Picker Upper ( Wipes)
Although this says kitchen, you can in the bathroom as well to wipe countertops and for general cleaning. Following the recipe is a list of oils and their property to help guide you in your choice.

For this you will need cotton wash rags or you can cut an old t shirt into rag size pieces
1 jar with a tightly closed lid in which to put the rags
1 cup of warm water
1/8 cup castile soap
9 drops of your favorite EO
Add the water, soap and EO drops to jar. Place rags in the jar. Cover and shake well until rags are thoroughly soaked. The rags are now ready to be used. They can be washed and with a new batch of liquid made, be reused time and time again.
Deodorizing - Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Patchouli
Antiseptic - Bergamot, Basil, Peppermint, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Rose Geranium, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Neroli, Orange, Patchouli, Rosemary
Anti-bacterial - Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Tea Tree, Juniper

Sinus Infection
2 Quarts water boiling hot
3 drops Tea Tree EO
2 drops Eucalyptus EO
Towel large enough to cover head

Add boiling water to a glass bowl along with the EOs. Place head over the bowl of hot water and EO's at a comfortable distance ( about 9" ). Drape towel over head and bowl to form a tent. Inhale the vapor heat. At first you may experience a burning sensation, but continue to breathe the steam for 5 -10 minutes for a clear nasal passage.
