The Healing Power of Touch

The Healing Power of Touch

The more I thought about healing, the more I thought about touch.

Looking back now, I realize that thought stayed with me for many years.

I couldn't explain it then, but I instinctively felt there was something very special about one human being gently placing their hands on another. Somehow, I believed healing could happen through touch.

At one point I seriously considered studying massage therapy. It seemed like the most natural direction to take. Yet something held me back. Part of it was practical—a  petite woman,  I wondered whether I was physically strong enough to manipulate muscles all day. Life also led me in other directions.

Still, the question never left me.

If healing could happen through touch, I wanted to understand how.

I didn't know where that search would lead, only that it continued quietly in the background of my life. The desire to understand healing never disappeared. In fact, it seemed to grow stronger with each passing year.

Sometimes life asks a question long before it reveals the answer.

For me, that question was healing.

The answer would come in a way I never expected.
